Pitter-patter, pitter-patter. All morning the rain tapped on Momo’s little round window. Momo watched the silver drops race down the glass and waited, and waited, for the sky to clear.
At last the rain stopped. The clouds pulled back like a curtain. Momo pulled on his bright red boots—left foot, right foot—and hurried outside. Everything smelled fresh and green and new.
