A gentle retelling for listeners ages 3–5 of the Brothers Grimm tale “Briar Rose”: a fairy left out of the royal feast wishes that the princess will fall down dead from a spindle, a kinder fairy softens it to a hundred years’ sleep, and at last a king’s son passes through the thorn hedge to wake her and the whole palace.
